After two years of uncertainty, the London Repertory Company returns to Dorset later this month with five plays in as many weeks at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne
So make a note in your diaries. The season opens on Wednesday 27th July with the Alan Ayckbourn favourite Taking Steps and marks a major change of regular venue for the ever-popular company.
After establishing itself as a much-loved attraction over four years at the Shelley Theatre in Bournemouth, the company found itself sidelined by covid in 2020.
When the Shelley didn’t re-open, the Players first tried the Tivoli last year, staging a single production of Ira Levin’s crime thriller Death Trap. It was such a success that a full Wimborne summer season is running this year.
Featuring a cast of familiar faces from previous years plus some exciting new actors, the LRP’s programme at the Tivoli this summer also includes Francis Durbridge’s The Small Hours ( Wed 3rd - Sat 6th August), Noel Coward’s Fallen Angels (Wed 10th - Sat 13th August) and JB Priestley’s I have Been Here Before ( Wed 17th - Saturday 20th August. The closing show will be Mike Leigh’s classic and much-loved observational comedy Abigail’s Party (Tues 23rd to Thurs 25th August).
